Reduce, re-use, re-love.
New Zealand designer Kate Sylvester is aligning with the growing focus on sustainable fashion with a new online marketplace for pre-loved pieces.
The marketplace, name Kate Sylvester Reloved, is a forum for customers to re-sell their used KS pieces, and a home base where they can find the best vintage gems.
It’s part of an effort to give new life to past season and archive KS pieces, preventing them from becoming landfill.
Another step forward in sustainability for the brand, Reloved follows the 2017 launch of the label’s Repairs Initiative, a complimentary repairs service on any garment from any time or season.
It functions much like Etsy or Ebay – sellers upload their products and payment is made safely through the site. Each listing also has a space where sellers can include comments about why they love each piece.
And there’s a bonus. For every $200 worth of past season KS pieces sold through Reloved, the seller receives a $20 voucher to spend at katesylvester.com.
